LED headlight upgrade – Stedi Project LED bulbs

LED head light upgrade, is it worth doing? Yes! Recently we put a Stedi Project LED conversion kit in the Fortuner and we wish we did it sooner. What is the best LED headlight kit available? Stedi of course! Stedi Project LED bulbs are specifically designed for projector style headlights.

This is one modification I sat on the fence with for a long time. Why? The main reason, I have mates running inferior LED headlight conversion that put out poor light. While they were white to look at the quality was worse than standard low beam. This is what I thought all LED headlight conversions were like, I couldn’t have been more wrong!

Stedi Project LED

After installing Type X Pro driving lights factory low beam was like only having park lights on. I had to do something, it was time to see the light. We grabbed a Stedi project LED kit and haven’t looked back.

The Project LED is a straight plug and play kit, simply twist the old bulbs out and put the new led ones in. Anyone can do it. The bulb has a cooling fan on the heat sink there is a quite buzz but nothing unbearable or noticeable once your car is started. As for the size, at first I thought they looked quite a bit bigger but there’s not much in it.

The light

Its super crisp and white at a 5700k colour temperature. They are perfectly matched to auxiliary LED driving lights. The brightness is definitely increased yet the throw of light is similar to the standard globes. This is perfect as it doesn’t piss off other road users.

It’s important to realise they are not a driving light or LED light bar alternative they are a headlight upgrade. For the price they are a great 4wd LED headlight upgrade if you are just starting to consider lighting for your rig.

When it comes to LED head light upgrades it’s curtail you get the right globe for your style of headlight. This is something I only realised recently. Talk to the team at Stedi to get the right light for your needs.

You won’t go wrong with Stedi LED lights, the quality is amazing and the value for money is spot on. If you have auxiliary lighting or are just looking for a little something more from your head lights check out what Stedi can do for you.

Hi Caleb, I’ve watched most of your videos and have really enjoyed them. I’m in the process of building up my Fortuner, and your experience has been a big help.

I was wondering for your Stedi LED conversion, why didn’t you upgrade the high beam also as Stedi has a kit for this? I’m trying to decide whether to go for the high beam or low beam kit.

      G’day Marcus,
the only reason I didn’t do high beam is its drowned out by the Stedi light bar and spotlights I run . I can’t remember the last time I didn’t use at least one of them with high beam. so for me there would be no value in high beam.If i was only going to do one, i’d still do low beam.

      Cheers, Caleb.
